She Takes the Mic was created to give exceptional women in live music a stage worthy of their talent and to give Kansas City audiences a fresh way to experience the artists already making this music scene special.

Each show is built around collaboration: artists stepping out of their usual sets, musicians coming together in new combinations, and songs taking on a life of their own.

It's a celebration of musicianship, connection, and the moments that happen when talented people share a stage.
